BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Muhammad Zubair Shabbir has been working as a Lecturer of veterinary disease diagnostics at University Diagnostic Laboratory since September 2006 to date. He did his DVM in 2005 with 3rd position (Bronze Medalist) and M. Phil Microbiology in 2008. Currently, he is doing his PhD in Microbiology under PhD Indigenous Fellowship Program Batch VI. Dr. Zubair has over 06 years of teaching, research and disease diagnostic experience. He is the member of supervisory committee of 4 post graduate students. He has published 17 research papers in international refereed scientific journals and one book entitled “canine Distemper and its diagnosis”. He has established collaborative research linkages with PennState University, USA getting two DTRA sponsored research project entitled “A metagenomic approach to the unbiased identification of pathogens endemic to Pakistan” and “Spatial ecology and epidemiology of soil borne human and animal bacterial pathogens and its public health significance in Pakistan” that are now running under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani. Similarly, he is working with Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences to characterize some of common pathogens in poultry and livestock. He is also the Co-PI/member in one PARB, Punjab and one AAAS, USA funded research project whereas, one project is in its final stage of approval from PSF, Islamabad.
