The need, for high quality educational institutes in the country, has been anticipated since long. The modern societies are knowledge-based and it is inconceivable to achieve socio-economic development or nation building without trained-manpower in scientific and technological fields, particularly in the areas of emerging sciences; such as Veterinary Science.
 
It is praise worthy to observe that UVAS has now been established as a credible institution of training manpower, in various disciplines of emerging sciences, i.e. Pharmacology & Toxicology, Physiology & Biochemistry, and Anatomy & Histology, Environmental Sciences etc. UVAS has now been acknowledged as one of the reputed Universities in the country, within a short period, since its up-gradation as a University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, in 2002.

Now, we are entering nearly the first decade of establishment of UVAS. We had our difficult moments, but with the hard work by all concerned quarters, we managed our initial take to the righteous goals. I am inspired by my respectable Vice-Chancellor, who devotedly continued the noble task. Today, it can be proudly claimed, that, we had been engaged in the accomplishment of our ambition whole heartedly.

 We have been vigorously pursuing our dream for achieving excellence in UVAS by providing highly qualified Faculty, a challenging curriculum and an efficient administrative team. But the real assets of educational institutes are its students.
We firmly believe in producing well-qualified graduates.
