Brief Bio
Dr Fareeha Akhtar is working as an Assistant Professor at University Diagnostic Lab (UDL), Institute of Microbiology, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, Pakistan. She is part of UDL since June, 2007. Previously she had been working in the embryo transfer technique lab, in Remount Veterinary & Farms Corps (RV&FC), Military Head Quarter Gp Okara. Dr. Fareeha Akhtar is also working as Quality Manager for implementation of International Lab Management System, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 at UDL. She is also a qualified Technical Assessor for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC), Islamabad. Dr. Fareeha Akhtar had been working as team member in the Project entitled "Immunoprophylaxis of Hydropericardium syndrome (HPS) virus in Pakistan, "Strengthening of Facilities at University Diagnostic Lab and Establishment of Animal House", "Development of vaccine for buffalo and cattle calf diarrhea" and "Characterization of Mycoplasma gallisepticum isolates from Pakistan & their use in the production of diagnostic antigen and vaccine". She is technically supervising disease diagnostic testing activities of Molecular biology and parasitology section at UDL. She is also involved in teaching and research of under graduate and post graduate students of various degree programs at UVAS. She is also performing the duty of biosafety officer at UDL. Dr. Fareeha has published her research work in various national and international journals with good impact factor. She is member of American society of microbiology, Pakistan veterinary medical council and life time member of Pakistan biosafety association. She has visited various countries like USA, UK, Australia, Tunisia, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Saudi Arabia for various trainings and for presenting her M.phil and PhD research work in various international conferences and workshops.
