Introduction
The Department of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at UVAS stands at the forefront of veterinary education, serving as a center of excellence in teaching, research, and services. As a multidimensional department, our educational and scientific activities are fully integrated with the broader goals of the University. Our mission is to enhance the health and well-being of animals and people, and to contribute to Pakistan's economic growth through high-quality education, cutting-edge research, and innovative veterinary services.
We educate and train students in veterinary medicine to become leading clinicians, academicians, and researchers. The foundational education of veterinary students occurs within the University's basic science departments, while the final three clinical years are spent within our department. The Department oversees several key facilities, including an Outdoor Hospital, a 24/7 UVAS Extension Service, the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital at Ravi Campus, the Equine Diagnostic Laboratory, and the nearby Sattarwala Veterinary Outreach Center.
Our commitment to excellence extends to applied veterinary medicine research, where we strive to maintain and develop top performance. Additionally, we offer postgraduate degree programs, including a Master of Philosophy in Clinical Medicine and a Doctorate in Clinical Medicine. Our goal is to produce highly trained practitioners, academicians, and researchers equipped with unparalleled expertise in veterinary science.
