UVAS 24/7 Extension Service is unique and provides animal health consultations to the farming community. This is an integral part of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and provides integrated veterinary and animal health services with other applied departments of the university viz. livestock management, animal nutrition, Pathology, etc. UVAS 24/7 Extension service is fully equipped with all animal health facilities and offering innovative treatments for livestock all over the country. Through this service we also offer needs based farmers' training facility. 

  Equine Diagnostic Laboratory (EDL) was established in 2012, and is located in the vicinity of The Lahore Race club. EDL is offering basic and advanced diagnostic facilities to equine owners at Lahore Race Club. EDL is fully equipped latest diagnostic facilities in equine practice.

 Civic engagement program was launched in 2012 under supervision of US government. US government selected ten universities from Pakistan, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences was among those. Our University was mentored by University of Minnesota. Since its inception, Prof. Dr. Aneela Zameer is in-charge of this program. Various student groups are also working in this program. A number of events have been conducted under this program as described hereunder.

  The world spay day was conducted on February 28 2023. A walk was arranged at City Campus at 10am to raise the awareness about importance of spaying in companion animals (dog and cats). Prof.Dr.Aneela Zameer Durrani (Patron VCS ) led the walk which started from Vice Chancellor's office and culminated in front of main academic building after taking the round of campus. A large number of Veterinarians and students also participated in walk to show solidarity with the cause. The introductory talk about spaying the companion animals was made by Prof.Dr.Aneela . The patron of VCS Dr. Aneela Zameer spoke on the occasion giving lecture on importance of spaying/neutering the animals.

2023

Center for Agriculture and Food Security and Preparedness, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA
Since 2017, the Center for Agriculture and Food Security and Preparedness, University of Tennessee has conducted face-to-face training courses for UVAS faculty. So far, 32 UVAS faculty members have attended five face-to-face training courses on one health, zoonotic disease, controlling disease outbreak, emerging infectious pathogens, and advanced agriculture risk assessment.

Department has collaboration with Prof. Dr. Sandra Godden at CVM, UMN, who is team member of research project on development of rapid culture systems for on-farm diagnosis of mastitis pathogens for early treatment.
