Biography

Dr. Abdullah, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, Faculty of Bio-Sciences, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore–Pakistan since December 06, 2017. He has completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture with major subject as Food Technology in 2010, M.Sc. (Hons.) in 2012 and Ph.D. Food Technology in 2017 from National Institute of Food Science and Technology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad–Pakistan.
During the course of Ph.D., he has worked at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA. In his Ph.D. research at Rutgers, he worked on extraction and GC-MS characterization of essential oils, antioxidant and antimicrobial potential, encapsulation of essential oils and their therapeutic use against induced hypercholesterolemia in bio-evaluation trials. Besides, he also attended “IFT16 and IFT18 Conferences as speaker being held in Chicago, IL, USA organized by Institute of Food Technologist, America. In addition, he has also completed International course on “Food Safety and Additives” organized by International Agricultural Research and Training Center (IARTC), Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (MAFL), Izmir, Turkey. He is also a reviewer of some notable journals of Food Science, Agriculture and Nutrition domain.

Research Interests:

Dr. Abdullah is working on exploring the antioxidant, antimicrobial and therapeutic potential of food bioactive components for food applications and to develop novel foods against chronic diseases/physiological disorders. He has also conducted and published research by finding the potential of different chemical/soaking solutions in mitigating the pesticides residues from vegetables so that consumers could be benefited.
