Acquisition and Technical Section

This Section is working as a back bone of University Library to fulfill ever increasing information needs of our users as per purposely defined “Collection Development” and “Technical operation” policies. Balanced acquisition, quick technical processing proper dissemination, automation and imparting searching/I.C.T skills to the users are major functions of this section.
Library Circulation Section
Most of the library stock has been placed in the main Library Hall where seating arrangements are available for the students. This section comprises of more than 16,000 Text and Reference Books relating to Veterinary & Animal Sciences and other discipline along with 780 Theses. The Reference materials like Encyclopedias Dictionaries, Atlases, Maps, Indices and all the research reports submitted by research scholars of this University are also available in this section. The use of the reference material is only restricted for study inside the Library.
 

Book Bank Section

This section has been organized as a special part of the Library to lend expensive text books to the students on long-term basis as per library regulations. The book bank comprises of more than 2600 volumes of text books and students can make full use of this precious facility.
 

Journals Section

There are approximately 45000 bound volumes of retrospective journals and more than 2500 unbound reports and magazines for study and reference are also available in this section. A comprehensive collection of about 240 titles of scientific journals related to Veterinary and Animal Sciences is a real valuable asset of this section, which has been recently computerized for study and reference.
 

Audio Visual/Computer Section

This section was established by the courtesy of U.S. MART project in 1992 which has been offering the facilities of study & research through T.V., VCR., Micro Fiche Reader with Copier, Full Multimedia Computers, Scanner, Laser Printer, CD-writing and CD Rom searching facilities by using various available equipments. This section has been recently uplifted by installing latest computers, close circuit cameras, barcode scanning system, RIFD System and networking.
