Biography

Dr. M. M. Awais is Lecturer in the Department of Pathobiology, College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Jhang Sub Campus of University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan.  He completed his M. Phil in Parasitology from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad in 2010 with distinction (silver medal). He worked on native biomolecules to evaluate their immunostimulatory and immunotherapeutic activities in poultry. His area of research is immunoparasitology mainly focusing on the development of native immunomodulators from wastes of food industry and vaccines to control the parasitic diseases. Dr. Awais has more than 10 peer reviewed research publications and 01 international book to his name; and has more than 13 impact factor. Dr. Awais is also serving two national periodicals, Pakistan Veterinary Journal (ISI indexed impact factor journal) and Pakistan Journal of Life and Social Sciences (HEC recognized; category ‘Y’) as Assistant Editor. Moreover, he is also serving different national and international journals as academic referee.

Areas of Interest:

  • Isolation and characterization of native biomolecules for their use as immunostimulatory and immunotherapeutic agents
  • Exploration and utilization of indigenous resources with rich phytochemistry against parasitic diseases
  • Value-addition of waste products of food  industry in terms of their immunomodulatory properties
