Biography

Ishtiaq Ahmed is working as an associate professor in the section of Pathology, Department of Pathobiology at Jhang Campus of the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore. He graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) in 2005 and later in 2007 earned a Master of Science in Veterinary Pathology. Ishtiaq was awarded Bronze Medal for securing 3rd position in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree program and merit scholarship during graduation and post-graduation studies at UAF. After completing his master's degree, he joined the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore in 2007 as a Lecturer in the discipline of Pathology. Ishtiaq completed his doctorate in Pathology at the Ondokuz Mayis University Samsun Turkey on a scholarship from The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.  His doctoral work involved the expression analysis of various growth factors and cell adhesion molecules in soft tissue sarcomas in companion animals. In collaboration with Global Health Pathology Network, USA, Ishtiaq has established a virtual Pathology program for the development of different skills in the field of Veterinary Pathology. He has organized many national and international trainings in Pathology and rendered advisory/extension services. He is also serving as Director of Student’s Affairs at Jhang Campus of UVAS and had previously worked as a resident tutor at UVAS hostels, Associate Director of Student Affairs, and student advisor for Qirat and Naat society and UVAS literary society Qirtas.
