Biography

Dr. Yassar Abbas is presently working as Assistant Professor (Regular), Department of Animal Sciences, Poultry Production section, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, Sub-Campus Jhang. He joined as lecturer cum farm officer at Avian Research and Training Centre, in 2009 having vast experience of Quail breeding, incubation, rearing, processing, value addition and marketing. After that he was transferred to College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and then he joined as full time lecturer in the same department in 2010. He has enough experience of working as Technical Sales Officer in Private Poultry Industry and served renowned organizations Hi-Tech.Feeds (Pvt) ltd. He completed his Ph.D research under the topic of Effect of different dietary lysine levels and feed restriction regimes on growth performance and slaughtering characteristics in Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix Japonica) maintained during hot season in 2015.His Research provided great help to reduce cost of production of Farming by adopting new innovations like Phase Feeding and feed restriction strategies. He has established a Poultry Research unit at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Jhang for hands on training of the undergraduate students. This unit with installation of replicates (partitioning) now has additional facility for research trials at this Centre. He is actively engaged in teaching and research. He has published many research papers in international and national journals.
