Research Activities - Public Awareness Campaigns

To promote research culture and impart problem based pharmacotherapy at under graduate pharmacy level,final year PharmD students of Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, (Session 2009-14) were assigned various practice based projects in their final year of PharmD in various hospitals of Lahore (Jinnah Hospital Lahore, Mayo Hospital Lahore, Punjab Institute of Cardiology,  Punjab Institute of Mental Health, Ganga Ram Hospital, Gulab Devi Chest Hospital, Government Shardara Hospital & Farooq Hospital). To identify the problems they conducted literature review, wrote synopsis, undertook study in respective areas, collected data, analyzed it by using descriptive and analytical statistics and submitted the project on thesis pattern, followed by publication published research articles, in national & international journals.

Remedial steps were also adopted against the problems identified in their research projects, like patient counseling for most prevailing diseases in our community (Diabetes Mellitus, Asthma, Tuberculosis, Hypertension, Hepatitis C, Cardiac problems & Psychotics disorders) with the help of specifically designed patient information brochures in Urdu and Professional guidelines.
