A free medical camp was successfully organized by the students of Pharm-D under the supervision of their teachers in collaboration with a medical team comprising of Doctors, Physiotherapists and senior Pharmacist in a far off area of Sakesarbar village, Sargodha where people have very limited access to the medical facilities.
In this camp, free medical checkup and medicines were provided to about 350 patients. A large number of patients were newly diagnosed for diabetes, hypertension, and other ailments while previously they were completely unaware about their diseases.
Students of Pharm-D very actively performed in this camp. They took patients history, checked vitals, dispensed medicines, counseled patients about the correct use of medicines, provided disease information and lifestyle modifications. The people of locality were highly obliged by the efforts of UVAS, Lahore for conducting this camp in the distant area where they have very limited access to the healthcare facilities.
A special thanks to the worthy Vice Chancellor, Senior Tutor, and Director IPS for their valuable guidance, support and motivation for this noble work.
The faculty members who participated in this activity include Mr. Ammar Sarwar and Mr. Tabish Ali.
