Biography

Dr. Farzana Abbas, is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore-Pakistan since 2018. She has completed her MSc. Zoology at Punjab University, Lahore and received her M.Phil. & Ph.D. in Fisheries & Aquaculture from University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore-Pakistan. Dr. Farzana Abbas worked on the fish parasites especially on the copepod called Lernaea during her PhD. dissertation. During MPhil she worked on the fish nutrition and digestibility of different feeds used in aquaculture. She worked as research associate in a Research Associate at Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore in HEC funded project entitled “Development of Standard Aqua Feed for Culture able Carps of Pakistan. She has supervised 15 undergraduate and 04 postgraduate researchers. He has authored and co-authored over 22 research articles, and 100+ abstracts in various conferences held time to time. He was involved in the preparation of curricula for BS (Hons.), M. Phil/Ph.D. Fisheries & Aquaculture, BS, M. Phil/Ph.D. Zoology, M.Sc. Zoology. She is a member of BOS of Fisheries and Aquaculture department, UVAS and university of Okara, Okara. Dr. Farzana Abbas attended various national training courses in the field of Fisheries, statistics, food and wildlife. The national visits include Salt Range Wetlands Complex (SRWC), Makran Coast Wetland Complex (MCWC), for awareness campaign to the local community of management of different saltwater lakes. Furthermore, was the part of study the research and training facilities for fisheries and aquaculture of Sindh and Balochistan province, trout culture facilities of Azad Jamu & Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, under the Inter-provincial exchange students delegate HEC.
