Biography

Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmad earned his MS and PhD degrees from Washington State University, USA. He is Fellow of Royal Veterinary College, Sweden. His research work in improvement of Buffalo Reproduction is widely cited internationally. He has produced several PhD and Master Students. Prof. Ahmad has performed his academic and research duties for more than five decades in the area of Animal Reproduction. He has worked as Professor, Chairman Department, Principal of Collage of Veterinary Sciences, Lahore and He was the first Vice-Chancellor (2002-2007) of UVAS. He worked as consultant in various international organizations including FAO, United Nations, UNDP and GTZ. He is pioneer in development of Animal Reproduction and Artificial Insemination in Pakistan. Prof. Ahmad wad awarded from his Alma Mater (Washington State University, USA) in 2005 with the most prestigious Alumni Achievement Award for his excellence in academic, research and extension work in the field of Animal Reproduction. Later in 2006 same university included him in Hall of Fame (52 winners so far), a rare distinction earned by a foreign Alumnus during the last 120 years, a great honor and respect for the country. In 2011 Prof. Ahmad was appointed by Syndicate University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore to the status of Professor Emeritus (Theriogenology) for life time.
