Department of Parasitology always encourages the use of items that are biodegradables as well as environment friendly. In this regard, Dr Haroon Akbar advises the students engaged in the Intellectual Development and Educational Awareness of the Society (IDEAS). For this purpose, various on-campus and outreach awareness drives have been run by the volunteers working in the student-based society named as IDEAS and convened by the faculty member in the Department of Parasitology i.e. Dr Haroon Akbar. The IDEAS advocates the use of alternates to minimize the plastic waste development on the campus.
