A large number of animals have been successfully treated with free medication. Department of Veterinary Medicine in collaboration with Nawan Laboratories has arranged Eid-ul-Adha free treatment camp at A-Block Clinic, UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki. Chairperson, Department of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Jawaria Ali Khan inaugurated the free Veterinary Treatment Campus. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hassan Saleem and Dr. Muhammad Zahid Iqbal accompanied the event. A large number of animals have been successfully treated with free medication. Vets Care Club organized a camp on July 6, 7and 8 in cattle markets of Lahore ,Sheikhupura and Quetta for free treatment of animals. Vets Care Club along with IVSA also conducted a campaign to guide farmers. Despite the bad weather during the camp, the students and doctors did not give up and completed the camp in a wonderful manner. The markets included Sagian Mandi in Lahore, Model Town Market in Sheikhupura and Quetta Market. Many companies sponsored us to conduct this camp. These companies sponsored medicine and injections for the camp
In this camp, our senior MPhil doctors treated the animals free of charge and provided medicines and along this, guided the traders and made them aware about animal health and various diseases. Senior doctors guided their juniors and taught them the basics and informed them about various medicines and injections as well as taught about TPR and auscultation. All the students were awarded with refreshments and appreciation certificates and took pictures with the doctors. 2022VCC arranged a series of online seminars on various topics, spreading awareness during EID days. Dr. Fatima Usman, Dr. Arsalan Tariq and Prof. Dr. Aneela Zameer Durrani delivered lectures on “Safely used drugs in Sacrificial Animals, Pre-purchase Instructions and Post-purchase Management of Sacrificial Animals, Biosecurity in Mandi & Common Metabolic Diseases during Eid Days. Vets Care Club, UVAS arranged a two-day free EID Treatment Camp for the welfare and treatment of sacrificial animals in Mandi Shahpur Kanjra, Lahore with the collaboration of government Veterinary Officers appointed in the Mandi. Keeping in view the COVID-19 pandemic, this activity was performed under strict precautions. A Workshop was arranged where students were given guidance on how to administer rabies vaccine in animals and a practical application was also carried out on dogs from SPCA, Lahore. A two day free vaccination camp was also arranged on 27th and 28th September at Pet Center, UVAS. The second shot of the Rabies Vaccine was administered on 19th October 2020 , twenty one days after the first shot. The efforts of Team VCC were also recognized and appreciated by the “Global Alliance for Rabies Control”. Vets Care Club arranged a one day pet awareness session for children of preschool of Beacon House School System, Canal Campus. A team of six members went to the school campus. The session was arranged for students of pre-nursery, nursery and KG in a total of more than nine classes. Awareness about handling pets, pet hygiene and five freedoms of animal welfare were discussed during the session. On the occasion of International Dog Day 2020, Vets Care Club in collaboration with PetsOne.pk (an online pet shop), arranged a “Petfie Competition”(selfie with your pet). The competition was publicized through various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp) in order to invite the general public to express their love towards their pets and win exciting prizes. Prizes were given in the form of discount coupons to shop at PetsOne.pk
