Biography

Kashif Maqbool Khan, is a lecturer at Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS), University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. He holds Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from University College of Pharmacy, University of Punjab. Being a professional Pharmacist he continued his quest of knowledge and during his research in M.Phil and he developed a Simple and Rapid analytical techniques for the determination of Risperidone and its Application in commercially available dosage forms by using Schazoo Zaka (pvt) Ltd. State of art lab facility.

In 2012 he was enrolled in PhD studies at Pharmacy department, Comsats Univeristy Islamabad, Abbottabad campus and submitted his PhD dissertation, during his PhD studies he has won International research support inactivate program (IRSIP), funded by HEC and finished his advance part of PhD at School of Pharmacy, Liverpool John Moores University, UK and produced a publishable data in peer reviewed journals.

He started his career in 2005 from Medizan laboratories (pvt) ltd., Islamabad as Production Pharmacist from May. 2005 to Feb. 2006. Then he got opportunity to serve Surge laboratories (pvt) ltd., distt: Sheikhupura as a Production Pharmacist from April 2006 to Dec.2006. He also served at community Pharmacy, Green plus chain pharmacy, Lahore, as a Branch Manager from Dec.2006 to May-2008. Before starting his PhD studies he has served 5 long years at   Schazoo Zaka (pvt) ltd. distt: Sheikhupura as Manager warehouse /validation from   May- 2008 to Sep-2012. During his PhD he also got opportunity to server Woman Institute of Learning Sciences, Abbottabad as visiting Asst. Professor from Feb. 2013 to Feb., 2015.

During his foreign visit to Liverpool, he learned several new techniques, e.g., GC-MS, HPLC-PDA, prep-HPLC, solid-phase extraction, NMR 1D/2D, MS for isolation of secondary metabolites from natural sources, resazurin assay for antimicrobial activity, and MTT assay for assessment of cytotoxicity of plant extracts/fractions against a number of cancer cell lines, and applied successfully to obtain publishable data, which will form a major part of his PhD thesis. He also attended a MS training programme at the EPSRC National Mass Spectral Facility in Swansea University.
