2023

  • Project titled “Human Health Impacts Of PM2.5 and Photochemical Smog from Lahore through Carcinogenic and Genotoxic Assessment” was awarded by Higher Education of Pakistan. 
  • Project titled “Repurposing iron-chelation drug deferiprone for management of difficult to treat diabetic wounds” was awarded by Higher Education of Pakistan. 
  • Project titled “Identification and characterization of Microplastics in terrestrial ecosystems and their impact upon health of living beings” was awarded by Higher Education of Pakistan. 
  • Project titled “Development of recombinant bacteriolysin for the treatment of Staphylococcal infection: A new strategy for replacement of use of antibiotics” was awarded by Punjab Agriculture Research Board.

2022

  • Dr. Zahoor is working on pediatric genetics including different diseases like neurological disorders, inborn error of metabolism, and renal dysfunction.  This will impact on control of inherited disorders and  family planing strategies through carrier screening for genetic disorders. He has collaboration with Harvard Medical School, Boston USA for renal disorders and University of Erlangen for neurological disorders. He has a research project from HEC on screening of inborn error of metabolism in Pakistan. 
  • Project titled “Study of Cellular Cannibalism (Entosis) in Tumors of Animal Origin” was awarded from Endowment Fund, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
  • Project titled “Genotoxic and carcinogenic assessment of Heavy Metal–Contaminated Soil and water in human blood and bovine milk samples from the different industrial zones of Punjab, Pakistan” was awarded by Higher Education of Pakistan
  • Project titled “Development of Advanced Molecular Diagnostic Test for screening of Silent Estrus Behavior in Pakistani River Buffalo” was awarded by Agricultural Linkage Program, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council
  • Project titled “Molecular Analysis of Inborn Error of Metabolism in Pakistan” was awarded by Higher education of Pakistan
  • Project titled “Development of novel molecular diagnostic assays for economically important infectious diseases of livestock” was awarded by Punjab Agriculture Research Board (PARB)
