Educational outreach activities (in local schools/ community including tailored lectures or demonstrations)

The Department of Livestock Management, in collaboration with the “Progeny Testing Program” team of LPRI Bahadurnagar-Okara, successfully conducted a Farmers' Day in Depalpur on Saturday, September 23, 2023, as part of the "Pakistan Science Foundation" research project. The primary objective of the event was to share the findings of the project, highlighting the positive impact of increasing the frequency of cooling sessions for buffaloes on milk yield and quality. During the event, farmers actively participated in discussions and shared their experiences related to improved cooling practices for buffaloes.

The Department of Livestock Management arranged a one-day seminar on 08-08-2023 at Ravi Campus Pattoki on Cooling strategies for dairy animals during summer. Small holder dairy farmers and commercial dairy farmers as targeted audience attended the seminar, endorsed and appreciated the efforts of department in extension education.

The Department of Livestock Management organized an informative awareness session on animal welfare for the students of The Educators School, Pattoki. During the session, students were introduced to key animal welfare concepts applicable to the community. Additionally, they had the opportunity to visit livestock farms and clinics.
