The 12th Meeting of Dairy Club (Joint Venture of Alltech and UVAS) was held on Monday Aril 02, 2012 at Syndicate Room UVAS. Following was the agenda of meeting:

Presentation by Dr. Jadoon:
In his presentation, Dr. Jadoon explained:
What is Dairy Club? The Dairy Club is an association which aims to gather people working in dairy industry at one platform and turn animal into gold!!!
Why this body was formed? Keeping in view increasing demand of milk, meat and value added products in local and international market Alltech Pakistan and University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore launched a Dairy Club in 2011 which is comprised of key role players of the industry.
What activities have we been doing yet? Organizing regular monthly meeting, sharing information, networking, promotion of dairy industry, highlight case studies, diseases, challenges, managemental and trade problems of dairy industry.
Our Achievements:
- Current number of members exceeded to 62. These members are leader executives from top most universities, dairy companies, feed mills, and large farms.
- Developed Dairy Club Website and update continuously with news and upcoming events
- Mixture of actions that add value to dairy sector such as inviting on events and official dinners
- Present solutions towards multifaceted problems of feed, genetics, diseases, animal congenial environmental issues, farm economics, improve quality and many more for enhanced productivity and improved animal health and performance
- Analysis of global dairy and beef issues
- Valued presentations by experts
- Involved media and media professionals for the projection of dairy business
Our Vision for 2012
- Intra universities link would be developed, once in quarter rotation meetings can be arranged.
- Farm visit and onsite meetings would be arranged
- Newsletter post meeting would be published
- Dairy lecture tour on monthly basis would be arranged, University faculty and resources would be allocated for mobilization. Dairy club team would arrange gathering of people.
- Video conference between universities and out of Pakistan would be used for seeking expertise.
- Feed formulation workshop once in quarter in university would be arranged
- University media center would be publishing minutes of dairy club meeting on monthly basis.
- Dairy club face book and twitter accounts would be developed.
- Design Dairy club logo
- Dairy human resource addition on website
- International dairy conference under umbrella of Dairy club
- Dhood Mela under umbrella of dairy club
- Familiarity with advanced technology for animal and feed production
- Focus on quality people
- Promote culture of suggestions
- Strong follow up

- Quality Presentations by experts on demanding topics
- Year calendar including presentations to be delivered by each member ((Dairy production systems, Milk marketing chains, Major constraints to dairy development , Development of dairy sector strategy and its implementation, Policies affecting the Sector, Marketing Infrastructure, Investments in dairy business, Improved nutrition and health of animal , Requirement of manpower, Milk production, Processing , Dairy Feed Mills , Dairy Farms , Value added products, cost saving and others that may be essential for dairy development in Pakistan)
- Conduct Surveys
At the end of presentation suggestion and feedback was taken from the participants.
Cake Cutting Ceremony:
This ceremony was organized to celebrate the first anniversary of Dairy Club.

Presentation by Dr. Japie:
Dr. Japie delivered lecture on Fodder Flow Planning. During his lecture he discussed:
- Month wise milk flow at dairy farm
- Pillars of Dairy Development
- Cow Nutrition
- The Interpretation of Dry Matter
- Daily Forage Requirement
Dr. Japie came up with a Demo MS-Exell Spread sheet on Fodder planning round the year. This was an excellent tool to calculate and monitor the fodder availability for dairy farm.

Address by Prof. Dr. T.N. Pasha:
Prof. Dr. T.N. Pasha, worthy Vice Chancellor, UVAS addressed to the participants. He appreciated the efforts of Alltech team and all members of dairy club.
Finally he announced the “Poultry Club”. Poultry Club will be another joint venture of UVAS and Alltech. Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, Dr. Athar Mehmud and other will be coordinating from UVAS. Agenda and schedule for first “Poultry Club” Meeting will be circulated by Alltech.
At last, schedule for next meeting was decided with the consent of all participants.
