Departmental ImpactTraining/programs to improve access to basic services2024The Department of Clinical Sciences (Surgery Section), KBCMA College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Narowal conducted one day training workshop on "Hoof Care And Soundness, The Path to a Healthy Horse '' with the collaboration of Brooke international under the kind guidance of worthy Principal Meritorious Professor Dr. Muhammad Younus (T.I). The seminar started with reception of the resource person Mr. Tom Burch from UK by faculty members of clinical sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Yousuf, Prof Dr. Muhammad Yaqoob, and Dr. Hafiz Manzoor Ahmad. The event started with the interaction of students with the resource person in lecture hall of academic block. Mr. Tom Burch elaborated the importance of hoof health in body balancing and common problems related to shoeing in equine industry. Later on students was trained for proper handling, Diagnosing problems related to disturbed hoof anatomy and its management by proper shoeing. At the end Prof. Dr. M Rizwan Yousuf thanked Mr. Tom Burch and Brooke International Team on behalf of Worthy Principal and faculty with a little token of love in the form souvenirs. On the directions of the worthy Principal, KBCMA, CVAS, Narowal Meritorious Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus, a series of various interactive sessions regarding Internship program for final year students has been started at our campus. In this regard, an interactive session of DVM 9th semester with SNAM PHARMA was arranged at KBCMA, CVAS- Narowal. Meritorious Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Warmly welcomed the resource person Lt. Col (Retd) Dr. Hammad Ahmad Hashmi, General Manager SNAM Pharma, (Companian group). The resource person delivered an informative talk on Kennel Management, Feed management of Pets & Prophylactic vaccination. He also highlighted the field opportunities and guided various career plans with students. SNAM PHARMA has been gracious to offer Internship opportunities for DVM final year students that would certainly help them to emerge as an effective veterinarian. At the end of the session Principal, CVAS, Narowal thanked and presented a souvenir to the resource person in a good gesture. Refreshment was offered to all students and guests. The seminar started with reception of the resource persons Mr. Tom Burch and Mr. Angus Wiseman, experts in equine shoeing from Brooke UK by worthy Principal and faculty members of clinical sciences Dr. Hafiz Manzoor Ahmad, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Yousuf, Prof Dr. Muhammad Yaqoob and Mr. Fayyaz Ahmad. The foreign experts interacted with DVM 6th and 8th semester students. Mr. Tom Burch elaborated the importance of hoof health in body balancing and common problems related to shoeing in equine industry. Later on students were trained for proper handling, diagnosing problems related to disturbed hoof anatomy and its management by proper shoeing. At the end foreign guests were saw off by Worthy Principal and faculty of clinical sciences with a token of love in the form souvenirs. 2022Under the leadership of Meritorious Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus (T.I), Principal, UVAS Narowal Campus, an environment-controlled poultry farm located at KBCMA CVAS Narowal is providing research and training facilities to the students of DVM and LAD students. So far two broiler flocks’ of 1500 capacity each had been reared and excellent results in terms of FCR, Mortality ratio and Final body weight have been achieved. Both of these flocks were fully managed and reared by the students of DVM 8th semester and they had equipped themselves with excellent poultry farm management skills. 2021The Department of Clinical Sciences and Department of Pathobiology jointly organized a workshop entitled ‘Detection of Milk Adulterants ‘under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus, Principal, CVAS Narowal to impart basic knowledge, skills, services and awareness among the residents of district Narowal. The workshop was aimed to highlight the negative impact caused by different adulterants and its public health impact. The department of Clinical Sciences organised a one day interactive workshop under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus, Principal, CVAS Narowal to train the faculty members of CVAS Narowal regarding effective and modern teaching skills. The workshop was aimed to disseminate the recommended teaching skills, techniques and styles to young faculty members. The resource persons were the Trainees from the First batch of National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), HEC under the Faculty Development Program. All the faculty members of CVAS Narowal and Veterinary Officers from livestock sector participated in this workshop. Additional Director Livestock, Madam Saima Irum graced the event as chief guest.
