Departmental ImpactAccess to university facilities to local farmers and food producers2024This is to share that SAVERS (Narowal chapter) conducted a free veterinary camp at Burj Kalan, Narowal. Total 256 animals were treated for various health and reproductive conditions. Besides prophylactic deworming cover was also provided in the camp. Faculty and students participated in the camp with full passion and energy. We are very thankful to our worthy Vice Chancellor sb and honorable Principal sb for the facilitation in this regard. A FARMERS FIELD DAY was organized by SAVERS Narowal Chapter on September 7, 2023 at Village Chak Safdar, Narowal. The objective of the field day was to provide the animals with the free treatment and ultrasonography based pregnancy testing services. Respected faculty members of CVAS Narowal "Dr.Hafiz Manzoor Ahmad, Dr. Syed Haider Zaman, Dr. Rafi Ullah and Dr. M. Fiaz Ahmad" led the students during the CAMP. Before starting the camp a farmer meeting was organized in which Dr. Imran Mughal (Lecturer Animal Nutrition) and Dr. Rizwan Saeed (Research Associate-Microbiology), discussed about 'the health and nutrition of calves and heifers" and "the importance of FMD and its prevention in farm animals" with the farmers. The DVM students from 5th, 7th and 9th semesters participated in the CAMP to enhance their practical and communication skills with farmers.. SAVERS Narowal chapter along with Vet Crescent Society inaugurated a weeklong free veterinary camp for sacrificial animals at Medicine Teaching Hospital, KBCMA CVAS, Narowal. This camp will provide free treatment and ultrasound services for the sacrificial animals. Faculty members, Department of Clinical Sciences and DVM students will participate in this camp. 2022The worthy Vice chancellor of UVAS Lahore has permitted to provide free medicine to the local farmers and small-scale livestock owners at the campus. Under the guidance and leadership of Principal UVAS Narowal Campus, the local farmers can also provide milk, blood and fecal samples of their animals for examinations at the laboratories of the campus. The newly established theriogenology sections (treatment of reproductive disorders, laboratory, teaching classroom, conference hall) of the clinical sciences is providing excellent services to the farmers. The senior students of the DVM program perform these clinical tests under the supervisions of the teachers and laboratory staff. 2021The worthy Vice chancellor of UVAS Lahore has permitted to provide free medicine to the local farmers and small scale livestock owners at the campus.
