Biography

Dr. Muhammad Adnan Ashraf is serving as Assistant Professor in Institute of Microbiology, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. He did his DVM from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). After DVM he won MPhil leading to PhD scholarship from HEC and completed his PhD in 2018. During his Masters, he worked on the biological control of Aedes larvae by endotoxins of Bacillus thuringiensis and Bacillus sphaericus. During his PhD, he worked on the characterization and improvement of alpha-amylase of microbial source. He has experience of serving as a Visiting Scientist under University of Pennsylvania, United States. He has worked actively in BSL-3 facility for Emerging pathogens and Animal BSL-3 facility of UVAS for diagnostics and research activities. His research interests are focused on microbial enzymes, biofilm-forming bacteria, antimicrobial drug resistance, wastewater-based epidemiology infectious diseases and veterinary microbiology. He is serving on the Editorial board of Critical Reviews in Microbiology (IF:7.391), and as a reviewer for more than ten international microbiology and interdisciplinary journals.
