Academic Costumes |
The Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Fellows, Officers and Graduates of the University shall wear Academic Costumes as under:
Chancellor & *Pro-Chancellor
Gown. |
Black velvet with full sleeves and with two stripes two inches wide, of gold velvet on the border running full length in front; and three stripes, one inch wide and two inches apart, of gold velvet four inches from the bottom of the sleeve. |
Cap. |
Black velvet academic cap with golden tassel. |
Vice- Chancellor
Gown. |
Blue velvet with full sleeves and with two stripes two inches wide, of silver velvet on the border running full length in front, and three stripes, one inch wide and two inches apart, of silver velvet four inches from the bottom of the sleeve. |

Black velvet academic cap with silver tassel. |
Fellows, Deans, Directors, Registrar, Treasurer and Controller of Examinations
Gown. |
Black silk with light blue two stripes along the length, and three half stripes on full sleeves. |
Cap. |
Black silk academic cap with black silk tassel. |

Gown. |
Black gown full sleeves. |
Hood. |
Of black silk with dark blue lining. |

Note:
- The Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor may, at their option, wear academic costumes of velvet or silk.
- Fellows and Officers of the University may, at their option, wear the academicals costumers of the degrees held by them.
