Regulations Relating to Registration of University Students

- The Controller of Examinations shall maintain a Register of all students of the University and shall assign a ‘Registered Number’ to each student at the time of first admission to the University.
- The Register of University Students shall contain the following particulars in respect of each registered student:-
(i) Name. as recorded in the secondary school certificate
(ii) Father's Name as recorded in the secondary school certificate
(iii) Date of Birth as recorded in the secondary school certificate
(i) Registration Number
(ii) Date of admission and re-admission to the University, and date of leaving the University
(iii) University Examinations passed / failed, along with Roll number.
(iv) Degree / Diploma / Certificate granted by the University.
(v) Scholarship, Medal or Prize won in the University.
- Every student shall pay a Registration Fee at the time of first admission to the University and a Fee for renewal of registration, if he is re-admitted after having been off the rolls of the University for any reason.
Explanation:-
A student who, having been passed / failed a University Examination, is admitted to the University in the next higher class in the immediately following session / term shall not be deemed to have been off the rolls of the University
- The Registered Number once assigned to a student shall not be changed on his re-admission to the University, and it shall be quoted in all documents concerning the student.
- The Deans / Directors shall forward to the Controller of Examinations the particulars of each student admitted or re-admitted to the University, in the Form prescribed for this purpose, within fourteen days after admission or re-admission of the student.
- When the name of a student is struck off the rolls of the University or he / she migrates to any other institution, or he / she is rusticated or expelled by a competent authority, or is debarred from taking an Examination by the Committee on Unfair Means, the Dean / Director concerned shall immediately report the fact to the Controller of Examinations who shall record it in the Register
- All applications for admission to the University Examinations shall be scrutinized by comparison with the Register of University Students. The Controller of Examinations may reject an application if the particulars do not correspond with those given in the Register, and may direct the applicant to resubmit complete and correct particulars through his Dean / Director
- A registered student shall be entitled to obtain a certified copy of the entries made against his / her name in the Register of University Students, after depositing the necessary fee.
