About the Presenter
Prof. Dr. Imran Pasha serves as Dean of the Faculty of Food, Nutrition and Home Sciences at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF). He holds a PhD in Food Technology, with postdoctoral training at Washington State University, USA, and Curtin University, Australia, and brings twenty-four years of research and academic experience. His work focuses on food science and human nutrition, particularly food safety and quality, value addition and fortification, and strategies for food security in Pakistan. He has authored more than 180 peer-reviewed publications with a cumulative impact factor above 560, supervised 22 PhD scholars to completion, and served as PI or co-PI on over 25 nationally and internationally funded projects with partners including HEC, ACIAR, GAIN, Nutrition International, and KOICA.

His research focuses on Controlled Environment Agriculture, developing tailored LED spectrum plans to optimize indoor vertical farming, improve poultry flock welfare, and enhance dairy farm productivity. Ms. Hadia Ali holds a DVM and an MPhil in Pathology and is a PhD Scholar at the Department of Pathology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF). She also serves as a Research Officer in the SINDER UAF project, where her work focuses on epidemiological surveillance and pathology of H9, Infectious Bronchitis (IB), and other immunosuppressive diseases of poultry, with the aim of selecting suitable vaccine strains from Pakistan. Her PhD research, entitled “Characterization of Chicken Anemia Virus and the Development of a Killed Vaccine,” aims to provide effective and practical tools for protecting commercial flocks.

About the Presenter
Dr. Muhammad Saleem Khan has extensive research experience in structural phage biology, phage–host interactions, and antimicrobial resistance. He completed postdoctoral research at Dalian University in collaboration with the Shanghai Institute of Phage Therapy, Fudan University. His work focuses on phage infection mechanisms and the evolution of bacterial resistance. He has authored 16 research publications and two book chapters, and his PHAGE-CRaFT proposal received the 2025 MSCA Seal of Excellence with a score of 91.6%.

Her work introduces Fusarium oxysporum-derived silver nanoparticles as a sustainable, eco-friendly alternative to chemical acaricides, offering a nanobiotechnological solution to ectoparasitic infestations in Pakistan’s poultry industry. The nanoparticles achieved over 94% mortality against Argas persicus and Dermanyssus gallinae, matching commercial cypermethrin without harmful residues. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and participated in multidisciplinary research and capacity-building initiatives.

About the Presenter
Dr. Muhammad Danish Mehmood serves as Director Technical at Ottoman Pharma, where he leads research and technical advancement in poultry vaccines, with a focus on poultry health, vaccine development and evaluation, disease diagnostics, and the prevention and control of infectious diseases. He also serves as an Associate Professor at The University of Lahore and holds a DVM and PhD in Microbiology. Dr. Danish has served as an FAO Health Consultant for local livestock purchase and is a member of the National Disease Control Committee (NDCC) and the International Poultry Science Association (IPSA). His research has been recognized with the RULA Best Researcher of the Year Award, Tamil Nadu, India.

FAdV–CAV Co-Infection: Immunosuppression & Implications for Poultry Health
Dr. Bilal Ahmad holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and an M.Phil. in Veterinary Pathology from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF). His M.Phil. research on the co-infection of Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) and Avian Influenza (H9) in broilers gave him a strong foundation in poultry disease investigation, pathology, and diagnostics. From 2021 to 2022, he worked with Forward Solutions as a Senior Sales Officer, and he is now associated with HIPRA Pakistan, contributing to the promotion and application of modern approaches to disease prevention, vaccination, and flock health management in the poultry industry.

She has worked on two research projects: the isolation and molecular confirmation of E. coli from abiotic factors of commercial poultry meat shops in Bahawalpur city, and the isolation and molecular identification of C. jejuni from raw poultry samples from commercial poultry shops in Bahawalpur city. Her work highlights the significance of environmental contamination, hygienic practices, and food safety in poultry production and handling, and contributes to understanding bacterial contamination in the poultry shop environment and its potential public health relevance.

Dr. Din Muhammad Mohmand holds an MPhil in Poultry Science and has served in the Livestock & Dairy Development Department (Research Wing) since 2007. His research interests centre on animal and poultry nutrition, particularly the evaluation of medicinal plants, antibiotic resistance, alternatives to antibiotic growth promoters, and least-cost ration formulation. He has published 24 research papers and has written more than 100 Urdu articles for farmers, helping to correct public misconceptions about broiler meat.
