LAHORE (17-01-24): The College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (CVAS) Jhang a Sub Campus of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore arranged laptops distribution ceremony under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed presided over the ceremony and distributed the laptops among the students, who were selected on merit from different disciplines/departments while Principal CVAS Jhang Prof Dr Muhammad Fiaz Qamar, Director Information Technology Center Muhammad Rizwan Saleem, Treasurer Muhammad Umer and a large number of students and faculty members were present in the PM laptop distribution ceremony held in collaboration with Higher Education Commission.
While addressing the students in the ceremony, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed said that CVAS Jhang is improving day by day especially in student enrollment and infrastructure development. Income generation through clinical services is a welcome sign, he added. He said it is direly needed to focus more on enhancing the competencies of students, improving soft skills of students, increasing enrollment for DVM students, Postgraduate programs and Livestock Assistant Diploma enrollment must be strengthened. He urged faculty need to bring new research projects on a competitive basis. Meanwhile, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad inspected of three important facilities/ongoing projects in Annual Development Plans newly built residences for faculty, girls hostel and clinical block and thanked CVAS Jhang leadership to arranged farewell ceremony with faculty.
Medical Lab Technology Pre-Internship seminar held at UVAS
LAHORE (17-01-24): Institute of Microbiology (IOM) of the University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences Lahore arranged Medical Lab Technology Pre-Internship Seminar at City Campus.
Chairman Department of Parasitology Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf chaired the inaugural session of the seminar while Director (IOM) Prof Dr Aftab Ahmad Anjum, Dr Shahan Azeem and a number of faculty members and students attended. Head of the Department Laboratories Dr Salma Haq and General Manger Human Resource Muhammad Ali khan both from Hameed Latif Hospital were the guest speakers who delivered informative lecture to UVAS graduates MLT students regarding personal grooming, ethics and their responsibilities during internship.
The aims of this awareness seminar were to give them an overview of the internship offering organizations and equip graduating MLT students for better job prospects and professional growth.
