“Briefly, after UVAS flood relief and Assistance Campaign 2022, UVAS initiated a campaign to revive the economic conditions of flood affected farmers. For this purpose, UVAS received 3 million funds from Botswana, Africa. After long discussions with donors, it was decided to donate pregnant animals to deserving farmers. A rigorous screening and selection procedure led UVAS to select 9 farmers and donate them the pregnant animals. From donation to parturition of animals, a bi-weekly follow up session was conducted and later on, a comparison of farmer’s pre-intervention and post-intervention conditions were compared. More than 25% average increase in income, assets and more than 20% decrease in expenses were observed.”
