VC UVAS, Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad, SI Visits Team activities in Charsadda, KPK
The Vice Chancellor UVAS, Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad, SI visited the Flood Relief Camp of UVAS at the worst affected areas, Shahbara Awanabad, near Charsadda, KP. He sympathised with the affected people and hoped that the area would be rehabilitated soon. The team is led by Dr. Shahid Farooqi. They distributed ration, warm clothing and quilts in addition to providing treatment of Buffaloes, vaccination and animals feed and fodder on seed. Most of the household keep Buffaloes in this area.
The local community appreciated the efforts of UVAS. Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad, SI lauded the help and guidance provided by Livestock Extension Department of KP. Dr. Qazi Zia Ur Rehman, Director Livestock, Dr. Ahad Ullah, DDL L&DD, KP accompanied.
Earlier VC, UVAS, Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad, SI visited the Faculty of veterinary sciences and Animal Husbandry and met Prof. Sarzameen Khan, Dean, Agriculture University, Peshawar and motivated the students to get involved in the community work.
Summary of activities:
- UVAS flood relief volunteer teams in their designated areas (Layyah, Rojhan and Charsadda) visited 14 different localities that were completely or partially ruined by the heavy floods and rains.
- A total of 2036 animals were served including treatment and vaccination.
- Around 599 families/Number of family members were provided with ration bags or helped in one or other ways.
The areas visited include Basti Sehar wala, Moza Kacha, Layyah, Basti Saiflani, Moza Wah Machka, Basti Hussain Buksh, Moza Dera Dildar, Basti Muhammad khan, Lallani, Moza Jhandi, Basti Wakko, Moza Giamal, Shabara V/C, Awan abad V/C.
