LAHORE (05-03-24):  The Department of Wildlife and Ecology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore observed World Wildlife Day with the theme of ‘People and Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Innovation’ at Ravi Campus Pattoki.
The day commenced with an awareness walk to promote environmental consciousness and the importance of wildlife conservation among students and the general public.
Earlier Chairman Department of Wildlife and Ecology Dr Arshad Javid led the walk and a large number of professionals, faculty members and students participated. Later in seminar Prof Dr Arshad Javid delivered the welcome address and emphasized on the critical role of academia in advancing wildlife conservation.
In the seminar guest speakers Mr Salman shared their insight on various aspects of wildlife conservation including religious perspective and Dr Zahid Iqbal Khan talked about significant of wildlife and its conservation for public & planet while Mr Shahbaz Anwar Maan delivered a lecture on people exploring digital innovation in wildlife conservation. The event emphasized on the need for collective action and innovative approaches to address the challenges facing wildlife and biodiversity conservation in the 21st century.
