UVAS, Vice-Chancellor inaugurates ICE&E Lahore Campus & holds orientation programme

LAHORE (25-10-23): Institute of Continuing Education and Extension (ICE&E) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore arranged an orientation programme for newly-admitted students of Livestock Assistant Diploma (LAD) at ICE&E Lahore Campus.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad presided over the orientation programme while Director ICE&E Dr Hassan Mahmood Warriach and number of faculty members & administration officer staff and students with their parents were present in the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed inaugurated ICE&E Lahore Campus. He visited along Dr Hassan Mahmood and other dignitaries various section of ICE&E Lahore Campus including its academic block, class rooms, computer lab, faculty offices, outdoor clinic, student hostels, washrooms and cafeteria etc. He also reviewed the quality of work and facilities and acknowledged the effort of UVAS Building & Works Department for smoothly completion of this project.

While addressing the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad congratulated the students on their admissions purely on merit and welcomed them in the international recognized well reputed historic Institute of Continuing Education and Extension (UVAS). He said LAD diploma programme is directly connected with livestock farming community and LAD students providing treatment facilities to save livestock farmer animals for enhancing their profitability. He said I am always willing for providing support to uplift UVAS Institute of Continuing Education & Extension and acknowledge its leadership & faculty dedicated effort in the development of Lahore (ICE&E). He said there are many more opportunities available in Gulf country for LAD students regarding job. He mentioned UVAS recently got 801-1000 position in THE World University Ranking and secured 9th position among Pakistani universities while 3rd among Punjab Universities. He advised all the students to keep class rooms neat and clean and follow the discipline, rules & regulation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hassan Mahmood Warriach spoke about ICE&E state of the art equipped lab facilities for imparting practical knowledge of students, faculty development training to enhance their writing skills, indoor and outdoor sports activities and conducted study tours for students. He said in future ICE&E in collaboration with University of Melbourne, Australia will launch livestock extension MPhil programme. He said ICE&E students by utilizing their knowledge and skills playing vital role in the socio economic development of country.
