UVAS Vice-Chancellor distributed laptops among Ravi Campus students

LAHORE (19-01-24): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore`s Ravi Campus Pattoki arranged laptops distribution ceremony under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023 at Prof Dr Akram Educational Complex.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed presided over the ceremony and distributed 82 laptops among the students, who were selected on merit from different disciplines/departments of Ravi Campus while Emeritus Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha (SI) Dean Faculty of Animal Production & Technology Prof Dr Saima, Director Information Technology Center Muhammad Rizwan Saleem, Principle Officer Ravi Campus Prof Dr Arshad Javid, and a large number of faculty members and students were present in the PM laptop distribution ceremony held in collaboration with Higher Education Commission.

While addressing the students in the ceremony, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed said that Ahmed congratulated the students getting laptops on merit and said that inspite of financial constraints in Pakistan the government of Pakistan is equipping the youths with laptops under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023. He urged the students to use laptops as a tool to excel in education and utilize this gadget also for earning through government initiatives like E Rozgar & Freelancing, online trading business to earn money.

Meanwhile, The Faculty members & Staff of Ravi Campus Pattoki arranged a farewell ceremony in the honour of Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad on his successful completion of four years tenure as the Vice-Chancellor of UVAS.

While addressing the ceremony, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed said enhancing the quality of education, expending of research facilities, providing best disease diagnostics & treatment/clinical services to livestock farming community and producing trained graduates were the main priorities of his tenure. He mentioned about various challenges facing during his tenure but financial and Covid- 19 was on top. He said he feel proud to see that UVAS trained graduates playing their role in the uplift of national economy of Pakistan by serving as human resource in livestock, poultry, dairy, pharmaceutical and food industries. Many faculty members lauded the dedicated efforts and contribution of Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad for the development of UVAS.
