LAHORE (01-12-23): The art & literary society Qirtas of the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged ‘6th All Pakistan Literary Festival’ (Muqabla Shair-o-Sukhan) under the supervision of the Convener Qirtas Dr Rahat Naseer and Senior Tutor Office here at City Campus.
Two day Adbi-Mela with the name of ‘Adbi Nashist” and theme of ‘Resistance Literature and present era’’ inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed while Mr Farnood Alam, Ms Amina Mufti and Mr Ammar Ali Jan were the guest speakers who engaged students with thought provoking talks. Chairman Department of Parasitology Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and Senior Tutor Prof Dr Ali Raza Awan, Mr.Ali Hamza, Dr Sadia Nawaz and number of faculty members and students were present in the literary festival.
Various competitions were held in literary festival including Urdu Nazm, Ghazal, Afsana, 100 Lafzi Kahani & Ashra Punjabi Nazm, English Prose, Short Story and Bait-Bazi while All Pakistan Mushaira and Sham-e- Ghazal was also held in the festival. Students from different universities of Pakistan participated in these competitions.
The University of Punjab was the winner of the contest while Government College University Faisalabad stood runner up of this event. At the end of competitions Dr Rahat Naseer distributed shields among the winners of contests. VC Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed appreciated the efforts of Qirtas to organize a successful event.
