LAHORE (05-01-24): Renowned Veterinarian Dr Ajaz Rashid from East Windsor Animal Hospital USA paid a visit to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad at City Campus.
Meanwhile a detailed meeting was held and Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the meeting and sought suggestions & inputs from Dr Ajaz that how to bring more competencies in practical work of young veterinarian for treatment of animals and trained them for international well known countries to serving as best human resource/veterinarians.
Chairman Department of Parasitology Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Director Planning Dr Asif Salman Sahi & Additional Director Dr Zubair Bari from Livestock Department and senior UVAS faculty members were present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ajaz Rashid urged young veterinarian must learn about practical experiences regarding disease diagnosis, surgery, proper handling and treatment of animals. He said it is necessary for all veterinarians to learn about latest knowledge, practices & professional skills, techniques of surgery while performing spay surgery of dog & cat to enhance their professional competencies.
Dr Asif Sahi urged that DVM curriculum should be updated by increasing of practical work to fulfill market requirements and he also acknowledged the role of UVAS to arrange informative boot camp to impart best clinical knowledge & practices to young veterinary professionals which is need of time.
Earlier, Dr Ajaz Rashid delivered an informative lecture to participants of boot camp on “Evidence Based Clinical Studies”.
