PHEC arranges Continuing Professional Development Program on Intellectual Property Rights held at UVAS

LAHORE (13-09-23): Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) arranged inaugural ceremony of two days “Continuing Professional Development Program on Intellectual Property Rights” held at Veterinary Academy of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed and Cholistan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Bahawalpur Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Sajjad Khan co-chaired inaugural session while Director Training (PHEC) Dr Asif Munir, Director Veterinary Academy Dr Muhammad Asif Awan and 60 participants from different institutions of Punjab were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed said that such professional development training programme is very necessary to know about importance of Intellectual Property Rights for researchers/faculty members and especially for Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization staff. He advised participants to spread knowledge regarding IP among other researchers. Prof Dr Muhammad Sajjad lauded the role of organizer to arrange this training programme on informative topic which key to get rights of innovative products development and research work.

Various aspects will be discuss related to IP law, patent system in Pakistan, importance of registration of patents for academia, discussion on different parts of patents specification, patent application, preparation and filing, how to train in ORIC human resource in IP matters,  patent drafting exercise in two day professional development program.

 

UVAS holds acknowledgement ceremony who contribute to arranged successful free treatment camp for sacrificial animals

LAHORE (13-09-23): Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged acknowledgement ceremony for those who contribute their lead role in successful arranging of free Veterinary Medical treatment camp for sacrificial animals on Eid-ul-Azha at City Campus Outdoor Hospital. During camp successfully treated 760 small and large sacrificial animals.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed preside over the ceremony and distributed shields, certificates and appreciation latters among faculty, staff,  representatives from different pharmaceutical industries & students. He also acknowledged their volunteer services for successful arranging of free medical treatment camp while Chairman Department of Parasitology Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Chairperson Department of Veterinary Medicine Dr Jaweria Ali Khan and number of faculty and staff members were attended acknowledgement ceremony.
