LAHORE (14-09-23): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore signed a memorandum of understanding with Minhaj University (MUL) to enhance education & research cooperation, start-up, student entrepreneurship and incubation support between both Institutions.
UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (SI) and Vice-Chancellor Minhaj University Lahore Prof Dr Sajid Mahmood Shahzad signed the MoU in a ceremony held at City Campus on Monday.
Dean Faculty of Biosciences Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Mangement Prof Dr Muhammad Azam, Registrar Sajjad Ahmed and UVAS senior faculty members while few officials/faculty members from (MUL) also attended ceremony.
While addressing the ceremony, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed mentioned about UVAS different disease diagnostics, animal treatment, zoological museum, state of the art labs facilities including geographical information lab and in-vitro embryo transfer lab established in UVAS Ravi Campus to impart best practical knowledge to students. He said UVAS willing to collaborate and its door always open for the practical assistance of (MUL) faculty/researchers and students.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Sajid Mahmood Shahzad lauded UVAS quality of education and research especially its animal treatment and meat processing facilities. He said this cooperation will be very beneficial for both institutions regarding sharing their knowledge and experiences with each other and learning of innovative knowledge and skills. Later Prof Dr Sajid Mahmood Shahzad along with Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed visited UVAS pet center and Veterinary academy.
Under the MoU, both parties will explore the possibilities of conducting joint research projects to promote image of both institutions as disseminators of state-of-the-art knowledge, their laboratories and research facilities accessible to faculty & postgraduate students. Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization at both institutes will ensure exchange of knowledge on policy development on research & development. Business Incubation Center (BIC) of UVAS will nominate a member to be part of the advisory board at Minhaj Centre for startups MUL and BIC UVAS will also facilitate in industrial linkages and product commercialization. Both institutions will arrange joint conferences, workshops, seminars and other similar educational events on regular basis and they will share teaching materials, lecture notes, case studies, research reports, working papers, audio-visual materials and software among the faculty of both universities. They also explore the feasibility of working together on curriculum development.
