Biography
Dr. Ahmad Yar Qamar is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Theriogenology at the Department of Clinical Sciences, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Sub-campus Jhang, since 16th November 2011. He holds DVM and M.Phil. degree in Theriogenology from UVAS, Lahore. His research work during his M.Phil. was “Effect of cholesterol addition to buffalo bull semen during cryopreservation procedures on post-thaw survival of spermatozoa”. He performed a significant part of his M.Phil. research at the Al-Haiwan Sires, Sahiwal, and Department of Theriogenology, UVAS Lahore. He also worked as Research Assistant in the ALP project in the Department of Theriogenology, UVAS Lahore for 04 Months. He worked as a reproduction consultant, at Living Dairies, Chunian District Kasoor for almost 2 years. Dr. Ahmad Yar Qamar has completed his doctoral degree under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jongki Cho in August 2020 from Chungnam National University Daejeon, South Korea availing Global Korean Scholarship (GKS). During his doctoral studies, he worked on the freezing of canine sperm using freezing extenders supplemented with different antioxidants, adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (Ad-MSCs), and Ad-MSCs-derived exosomes. During his doctoral studies, he also served as a Teaching Assistant and Researcher in a project related to Companion Animal Reproduction. His fundamental expertise is in the field of animal reproduction, semen cryoprocessing, and ultrasonography. Moreover, he is also interested in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, and common reproductive problems in domestic animals. His main responsibilities include teaching different courses of Theriogenology, handling different clinical cases, research, and providing extension services to livestock farmers. He is the author of several research publications in high-impact factor journals and conference proceedings.
