LABORATORY ANIMALS HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ORGANIZED BY CMS DEPARTMENT AT PGMI/AMC LAHORE

`January 30; The Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore organized Laboratory Animals Hands-on Workshop at Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI)/ Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC) Lahore on January 28-30, 2015. Prof. Dr. Aneela Zameer Durani was the Chief Coordinator of the workshop and Dr. Muhammad Avais was the focal person / Organizer from UVAS. Resource Persons of the workshop included; Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, Prof. Dr. Abu Saeed Hashmi, Dr. Syed Saleem Ahmad, Dr. Arfan Ahmad, Dr. Amjad Riaz, Dr. Muhammad Avais, Dr. Muhammad Ijaz and Dr. Ghazanfar Ali Chishti. The postgraduate students of PGMI/AMC attended the workshop. Lecture sessions of the workshop focused the issues of Laboratory animals related to their ethical use, housing, feeding and management while in practical sessions the participants were given hands-on training of handling and injections procedures of different laboratory animals species. The participants took keen interest in various procedures related to their research and made all the sessions very interactive and fruitful.  At the end of the workshop Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra, Princi pal PGMI/AMC awarded certificates to the resource persons and participants of the workshop. Principal PGMI/AMC and Prof. Dr. Sadia Chiragh, Chairperson, Pharmacology admired the efforts of CMS in particular and UVAS Faculty in general in organizing this workshop at PGMI/AMC.
