UVAS signs MoU with Allah Walay Trust to provide financial support to deserving students

LAHORE (18-09-23): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Allah Walay Trust (AWT) to provide financial support to 60 deserving students of UVAS on merit for the financial year 2023-24.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (SI) and Chairman Allah Walay Trust Mr Shahid Lone signed the MoU in a ceremony held at City Campus. Dean Faculty of Biosciences Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr Muhammad Azam, Director Scholarship Program AWT Prof Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt, UVAS senior faculty members and officials from AWT also attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed thanked leadership of Allah Walay Trust for financially helping the needy and talented students of UVAS during their studies. Mr Shahid Lone spoke about the aims, initiatives/working of AWT for the provision of nutritional food to marginalized community and public welfare as well. He said the AWT recently initiated this scholar­ships program for those de­serving students, who are studying for their profes­sional degrees.

Prof Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt said this initiative of AWT will help the students of marginalized families to complete their de­grees without any financial tension and concentrate on their studies.

Later, Deputy Director Student Financial Aid Office SFAO Mr Qaisar Hussain gave a presentation on the vision, mission, eligibility criteria, scholarship award process and portfolio of SFAO.

Under the MoU, Allah Walay Trust will donate 60 scholarships of Rs 6 million to UVAS deserving talented students of professional degree programmes.
