LAHORE (10-05-24): The Department of Social Sciences of the University of Veterinary & Animal Science Lahore under Higher Education Commission, National Research Programme for Universities (NRPU) project arranged a seminar on “Female Adolescent Domestic Worker’s Reproductive Health Needs and Challenges in Punjab, Pakistan” at City Campus on Friday.
Dean Faculty of Biosciences Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman chaired concluding session of the seminar while Registrar Sajjad Hyder, Principal Investigator/Chairman Department of Social Sciences Dr Hafiz Hussain Azhar, Ms Dilawaizussa and number of faculty members and students were present.
Director of Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS) Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar, Chairperson, Department of Social Work Prof Dr Uzma Ashiq, Associate Professor Department of Social Work Dr Tahira Jabeen, Associate Professor, Department of Social Work Dr Sonia Omer were the resource persons of the seminar from University of the Punjab.
Various aspects have been discussed in the seminar related to early marriages & maternal health, girls on the crossroads of women and children, parenting & adolescents’ reproductive health needs & challenges etc.
The objectives of seminar was to shed light on important issues related to the reproductive health needs of female adolescent domestic workers and explore possible avenues for empowerment and support.
