UVAS holds 8th National workshop on ‘Reproductive Ultrasonography in Domestic Animals’

LAHORE (16-10-23): The Department of Theriogenology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged concluding ceremony of 8th five-day training workshop on “Reproductive Ultrasonography in Domestic Animals” here in UVAS Veterinary Academy.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (S.I.) presided over the inaugural session of workshop while Dean Faculty of Biosciences chaired concluding ceremony and distributed certificates among participants. Chairman Department of Theriogenology Dr Irfan-ur Rehman Khan, Prof Dr Amjad Riaz, Dr Zahid Tahir and 20 participants including vet practitioners, dairy farm mangers, professionals and postgraduate students from public & private organizations were present.

While addressing the inauguration ceremony, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad highlighted the importance of ultrasonography and lauded the organizers for arranging such an informative hands-on training workshop which is necessary for the uplift of livestock sector and boost national economy of Pakistan. He also shared historic importance and status of ultrasound in Pakistan. Dr Irfan-ur Rehman Khan spoke about the aim and objectives of workshop and gave detailed presentation regarding Department of Theriogenology activities. He also thanked sponsor of   training workshop including Biotech Services, Prix Pharmaceuticals, Geentech International and Animal Care Sciences.

The objective of the workshop was to equip the participants with required knowledge and skills to diagnose reproductive issues and to improve fertility through ultrasonography in domestic animals. The course aims to enhance participant’s practical knowledge and skills about the use and application of ultrasound in reproductive management of domestic animals.
