Biography

Dr. Syed Muhammad Faheem Ahmad graduated from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore in 2015 and since before that he have been involved in pet animal practice. He did pre internship at Saleem Veterinary Clinic and Lahore Zoo and for final year internship he did his internship with Houbara Foundation Pakistan. He went for externship on fully funded program by International Fund for Houbara Foundation at UAE where he got exposure with houbara foundation, Falcon Hospital UAE and Al Ain Zoo UAE. He completed his Mphil in 2018 in veterinary surgery with focus on Feline Fracture. Currently he is enrolled in PhD in the department of Veterinary Surgery UVAS.

He started his career as Assistant director since 2018 In a Punjab funded project and later in 2019 was appointed as Lecturer in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, UVAS-Lahore.

He is a part of various societies and a Pak-US Alumni and under that he won a small grant of $1600 in 2013 and successfully completed a project titled Shelter home for small animal at UVAS.

International Trainings/Externships:

  1. International Training Workshop on Traditional Chinese Veterinary medicine and techniques from July 10,2017 to July 29,2017 at Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of CAAS. The training focused on the herbal medicines, acupuncture in animals and treatment.
  2. INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR HOUBARA CONSERVATION arranged 1.5-month externship in ABU DHABI UAE. This externship training program is divided into three phases, one-week training at each ABU DHABI FALCON HOSPITAL & AL-AIN ZOO and four weeks at NATIONAL AVIAN RESEARCH CENTRE SWEIHAN.

Internships:

  1. FEBRUARY-MAY, 2015: Four months internship with HOUBARA FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL PAKISTAN starting from 02-02-15 to 27-05-15. This internship was basically focused on the management of various wildlife parks, treatment, capturing, chemical & physical immobilization and translocation of captive wildlife for the purpose of conservation. The scope of training along with the sites I was stationed at are as follow in B:

University Clinics & Field Work:

Performed duties at outdoor and indoor hospital, Surgery clinic, Theriogenology clinic and outreach station and handled all types of cases in my spare time and summer during the course of my degree. During the course of my study I also participated and arranged various field camps.

  1. Organized & participated in various Veterinary treatment, vaccination & de-worming camps organized by Vets Crescent Society in different villages of Lahore and Kasur districts of Punjab during five years of degree program.
  2. Organized & participated in 3 days Free Veterinary Treatment Camps organized in Animal Market Lahore every year on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha (2010-2014).
  3. Worked as leader for 10 days in flood relief camp organized by UVAS in 2014 at Sialkot.
  4. Worked as volunteer in one-week vaccination camp at Mandibahuddin dist. Along with Livestock Department.

Volunteer Work /Activities:

  1. Member of the flood relief team to assist the livestock and Dairy Development for management of flood affected area for insuring timely help to the farmer as well as to sensitize the rural community for alternate feed/fodder, vaccination, availability of medicines, deworms, and other related management issues of cattle head in case of any eventuality in the Lahore and Gugranwala Division. 11-18 September 2014.
