Ali Husnain is a native of a small village near Gojra, central Punjab, Pakistan. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (bronze medalist) from the College of Veterinary Medicine in Jhang in 2011. He moved to Lahore and began his Master of Philosophy program with Dr. Nasim Ahmad at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. His thesis focused on manipulating progesterone concentrations after artificial insemination and its effects on the pregnancy rate in dairy buffalo. He became a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Theriogenology at UVAS for nine months and was promoted to a regular faculty position in 2014. Aside from his teaching and research responsibilities, he served as a reproductive consultant on commercial dairy farms and at the University dairy.
