UVAS celebrates 77th Independence Day of Pakistan in all campuses in befitting manners

LAHORE (14-08-24): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore celebrated the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan in a befitting manner here on Wednesday.

Flag-hoisting ceremonies, Quran Khawani, prayers for the martyrs of Pakistan and cake cutting ceremony featured the day at all UVAS campuses.

The day began with Quran Khawani and special prayers in the university mosque for the martyrs and for the progress & prosperity of the country and university. Later a flag-hoisting & cake cutting ceremonies were arranged at City Campus. Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) along with Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Prof Dr Mati Ur Rehman, Registrar Sajjad Hyder and other dignitaries hoisted the national flag while faculty members, students, administrative staff and their families attended in a large numbers. At the end of cake cutting ceremony UVAS also express solidarity with the innocent people of occupied Kashmir and Palestine and a special prayed for their independence.

Earlier Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) along with dignitaries planted a number of saplings in the City Campus for the promotion of greenery.

Addressing the audience, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus congratulated the university employees and students on celebrating 77th Independence Day of Pakistan. He said Pakistan is the country to have been created in the name of Islam and we feel proud on it. Prof Younus called for abiding by the sayings of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and vision of Allama Iqbal. He also paid rich tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his dedicated efforts for the attaining of separate homeland for muslims. He said we must remember the services of our elders who had sacrificed their lives for the achievement of Pakistan.

Similar flag-hoisting ceremonies were also held in other campuses of UVAS including Ravi Campus Pattoki, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CVAS) Jhang, Khan Bahadur Chaudhary Mushtaq Ahmad College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KBCMA-CVAS) Narowal and Para-Veterinary Institute Karor Lal-Eason Layyah.
