LAHORE (25-07-24): The Qiraat & Naat, Qirtas and Character Building Society of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore (UVAS) jointly arranged a Mehfil-e-Qiraat, Naat & Manqbat to commemorate great martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) at City Campus.
UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) presided over the concluding session of mehfil while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Dr Muhammad Sarwar Siddique, Dr Muhammad Asad Ali, President Non-teaching Staff Association Asad Shah and number of faculty members and students were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Muhammad Younus said that the martyrs of Karbala taught the oppressed humanity not to bow down to falsehood and stand firm against oppression.
UVAS students presented recitations of the holy quran, naat and manqbat in this mehfil. The aim of the event was to bring together the UVAS community in the celebration of spiritual expression, devotion and for spiritual upliftment.
