Biography
Dr. Muhammad Usman is a Assistant Professor and In-charge Indigenous Chicken Genetic Resource Center (ICGRC) in Department of Poultry Production, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore- Pakistan. He holds the degree of BS (Hons.) Poultry Science from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. He has completed his Masters of Philosophy (M. Phil) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Poultry Production (UVAS).
During his M. Phil research, he identified Single Nucleotide Polymorphic Markers controlling egg production and egg quality traits in different indigenous chicken breeds. The title of his PhD research was “Performance of Dual Purpose Chicken Genotypes Under Alternative Production Systems”. Before joining University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences as a faculty member, he was working as an Assistant Farm Manager in a breeder farm of Sadiq Poultry Private Limited.
