The Meat Department at UVAS is a valuable resource for providing specialized expert advice to local, regional, and national governments. Their expertise encompasses various aspects of the meat industry, from production and quality control to policy recommendations. Specific expert advice is rendered to L&DD Punjab, Local government, Punjab Food Authority, Punjab Cattle Market Management and Development Company and the Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Board. These expert opinions are in the form of presentations, advice, policies and recommendations.

Department of Meat Science and Technology completed this task as a part of project titled 'Agri-food and agro-industry development assistance in Pakistan (PAFAID)' under Unites Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).  The principal objective of was to assess the current facilities available at the meat processing laboratory of Animal Husbandry in-Service training institute (AHITI), Peshawar, and evaluate this facility for upgradation.
