The Department's proactive involvement in health outreach programs and projects on relevant occasions is exemplary. The department educates meat sector professionals and the general masses through interaction sessions and brochures. These initiatives likely cover diverse health-related subjects, enhancing awareness and knowledge among residents. By extending its reach through multifaceted techniques, we are expected to share your responsibility in developing Pakistan's livestock sector economy and overall safety and hygiene of the meat and meat products. Consequently, health and well-being are protected.

2022

Department of Meat Science and Technology, UVAS organized a seminar titled 'Importance of disinfection and sanitation in food Processing facility' on 03-10-2019 by Dr. Rizwan Shaukat Technical manager DMG group. This seminar was focused on sanitation and hygienic practices in abattoirs and meat processing facilities.

Department of Meat Science and Technology, UVAS got a request from Additional Deputy Commissioner Narowal regarding sampling of meat from Public slaughterhouse located in Narowal. These samples were further analyzed to conclude the hygienic condition of meat being processed at the said slaughterhouse. A team of experts (Dr. Kashif Nauman, Dr. Bilal Asghar and Dr. Umar Farid) visited the slaughterhouse and completed the task.
