Biography  

Dr. Waqas Ali is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Wildlife and Ecology, UVAS, Lahore. He also served the department as Lecturer from May 2015 to January 2022. He got his B.S (Hons.) Fisheries and Aquaculture degree in 2012 from UVAS, Lahore. He earned his M.Phil. in Wildlife and Ecology with distinction and awarded with Silver Medal in 2015. His MPhil thesis title was “The diversity, distribution and phenetic relationships of herpetiles of district Kasur” encompassed to explorer amphibians and reptiles diversity of District Kasur. He earned his Ph.D. in Wildlife and Ecology from UVAS in 2020. His thesis title was “Genetic diversity and habitat preferences of amphibians and reptiles from selected sites in Punjab, Pakistan”. He got HEC, IRSIP fellowship and went to School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, University of Adelaide, Australia in 2019 for his PhD research.
