Industrial Collaboration for Pasteurized Milk & Yogurt Production
UVAS has been instrumental in dairy sector development in Pakistan through
various initiatives. UVAS established a milk processing plant at its Ravi campus
under Dairy Training & Development Center. Equipped with state of the art
European machinery, the plant is integrated with sufficient cold storage and
yogurt incubation facilities. The plant has capacity of 2,000 liters per hour
pasteurization. UVAS has collaborated with Everfresh Farms (Private) Limited to
functionalize the plant on commercial basis where Everfresh Farms having ownership of
one of the corporate dairy farms in Pakistan is producing pasteurized milk products along with
yogurt at this plant and selling in the market.
UVAS provides technical backstopping and R&D facilities to the plant in order to ensure its
smooth operations. The functional processing plant through industrial linkages provides an
opportunity to UVAS students for obtaining practical training and doing research of applied nature.
At the same time, it is substantially contributing in triggering business opportunities in dairy sector.
